I am 86 years old and missing half a lung. I have been using this gadget in advance of the ski season and it seems to be working !

I never knew there was a product [POWERbreathe Classic] to exercise my diaphragm. It is important for me as I have a lung fibrosis issue that can't be reversed, and this at least helps to keep my lung volume as high as possible.

My father (aged 89) had a horrible bout of pneumonia, which took several months of antibiotics and hospitalisation to fix. Finally, he was free of infection, but I was told by all the medical professionals that the shadow on the bottom half of his left lung would never clear. Determined to prove everyone wrong (!), we set to work and he uses his Powerbreathe every morning, and is now just about to "grow out" of the light resistance and move on to the medium. A recent follow-up X-ray (three months after he came home from hospital), shows no shadow on the lung! The doctors were understandably amazed. And as an extra bonus he no longer snores!
